- Catching On-Line - provides a range of learning and teaching resources for Victorian primary and secondary schools. All materials support a comprehensive, whole-school learning approach to sexuality education.
- Drug Education - provides information and resources on the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s Drug Education program. The site has a range of useful material for schools, teachers and parents.
- Multicultural Education - provides a range of useful information and resources for school leaders, teachers and parents regarding multicultural education in Victorian government schools.
- Effective Schools are Engaging Schools: Student Engagement Policy Guidelines - promotes student engagement, attendance and positive behaviours in Victorian government school and assist schools in developing their Student Engagement Policy.
- Guidelines for Managing Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in Schools (PDF - 408Kb) - assists schools to affirm cultural and linguistic diversity and uphold the rights and responsibilities of individuals and groups in our public education system.
- Learning On Line - the Department’s website, providing advice for schools on cybersafety and the responsible use of digital technologies.
- National Safe Schools Framework - provides an agreed national approach to help schools and their communities address issues of bullying, harassment, violence, and child abuse and neglect.
Research
- Case studies - In 2005, the Department commissioned research into schools that had success in creating environments that were perceived as 'safe' according to the Attitudes to School Survey. Several good practice schools were selected to be case studies.
- Respectful Relationships Education (PDF - 1.3Mb) - In 2008 the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development engaged VicHealth to review respectful relationships education in Victorian secondary schools resulting in the Respectful Relationships Education: Violence prevention and respectful relationships education in Victorian secondary schools report. The report provides guidance on good practice criteria required to achieve violence prevention and respectful relationships education in schools.
