School Description
Eltham North Primary School is a medium sized, well resourced school, located one kilometre north of the township of Eltham Central. The school is in a quiet residential suburb with a native bush setting. Our core purpose is “to provide an inclusive, rigorous learning environment that challenges and engages young people to grow as passionate learners who are connected and motivated, creative and independent, demonstrating social action and values, leadership, respect, resilience and self esteem when interacting with the community”. Our core values are expressed in the school motto, ‘Growing, Discovering, Creating Together’.
Student Support Services
Our school based educational psychologist, support teachers, integration aides and speech therapists provide significant welfare, literacy, language and numeracy support and extension programs. The school is also supported by a regional educational psychologist, speech therapist, and the visiting teacher service.
Special Facilities
Community outside school hours care centre, instrumental music rooms, library and information communications lab. Extensive landscaping provides a range of active and passive play areas with four adventure playground zones, a greenhouse, propagation and vegie garden
Special Programs
The ‘Write To Read’ Literacy program and the ‘Bounce Back’ Resilience welfare program are significant at Eltham North. We are a ‘Go For Your Life’ accredited School, ‘5 Star Sustainable’ and a ‘Healthy Eating School’. At all year levels we offer various student leadership and clubs programs to engage students, as well as enrichment and extension in Literacy, Numeracy and Science. Specialist programs include Physical Education, Art, Music, Information and Communication Technology and Environmental Education.
