A child's growth often reflects their overall health. The growth of your child is affected by family genetics as well as other factors such as food intake or chronic illness. Growth charts allow your doctor or nurse to track your child's growth over time and to take early action if a problem occurs.
The Department of Human Services has recently updated a range of growth charts and introduced new BMI percentile charts to assess the growth and health of Victorian children. The new and revised growth charts have been included in the 2005 editions of the Child Health Record. The charts are also now freely available in A4 formats for clinical use by health professionals from this website.
