Kindergarten Inclusion Support Packages
Kindergarten Inclusion Support Packages offer supplementary assistance to support children with severe disabilities or complex medical needs to access and participate in an inclusive kindergarten program.
An inclusive program fosters the development of a sense of belonging and respects individuality and diversity, in order to promote learning, development and well-being in a child's early years.
The Kindergarten Inclusion Support program is funded by the State Government through the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the Commonwealth Government through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
Kindergarten Inclusion Support packages for Children with Severe Disabilities
An Information and Application Kit is available to families and kindergarten programs seeking support for children with severe disabilities to access and participate in their local funded kindergarten program. The Information and Application Kit contains information guidelines, an application form and details of where to send the completed form.
Kindergarten Inclusion Support packages for Children with Complex Medical Needs
As part of the 2011-12 State Budget, kindergarten inclusion support packages are now available to support the inclusion of children with complex medical needs (without a disability) in their funded kindergarten program. An Information and Application Kit is available to families and kindergarten programs seeking this support. This kit includes guidelines, an application form and details of where to send the completed form.
Please note that applications for a KIS package for children with complex medical needs will require a completed General Medical Advice form and a Child Health Support Plan.
