Checkpoint 2.4 - Audio and Video
All video files are described properly in the page
DEECD Requirement
DEECD Guideline
Some users may not have particular programs and therefore need to know what format a file is prior to downloading it. Other people with disabilities may know that their assistive technology doesn't work with a particular technology and therefore will avoid downloads of that format.
People are sometimes searching for specific information and often it is not clear whether that information is available in a particular download file. Providing summary information ensures that users know what information is provided. When a proper text equivalent is provided, the summary description of the file is not required.
Requirement
Every video file needs to include the following information:
- File type
- File size
- Duration of video file
- Summary of content (if relevant)
Example
Download the video of this Japanese Language Lesson (Quicktime, 5 MB, 10 minutes), or read the description below.
