A standard directory structure within a web site and across all web sites in the Department allows for the logical placement of all files associated with the web site and allows for easier maintenance of these files.
Requirement
All departmental web sites must follow the standard directory structure set down by the Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration Unit.
Recommendation
Each web site must have all subdirectories, even if they contain no files. Files might be added to the web site at a later date, so the directory structure must be put in place initially in preparation for later additions.

Checking Tool
Check the directory structure in the WebCMS and verify that all of the subdirectories exist for the web site.
