Checkpoint 1.5 - Podcasts

Compile a list of topic-specific words and phrases for the transcriber

WCAG 1.0 Priority 1

WCAG Guideline 1. Ensure that documents are clear and simple.

Transcription of audio and video content can be performed using manual and computer-based means. A number of factors can affect the speed and quality of the transcription process, and may lead to the occurence of errors and increase in transcription costs. Among these are the speed of the speech, poor quality of the recording, and degree of complexity and the technical nature of the topic.

Assistance can be given to the transcription process if a list of topic-specific names and phrases are provided to the transcriber.

Requirement

Provide the transcriber with topic-specific words and phrases that may present difficulties when transcribing.

Recommendation
