Checkpoint 5.11 - Mobile-PDA

Purple or blue has not been used as text colours (with the exception of the default link display)

WCAG 1.0 Priority 2

WCAG Guideline 13. Provide clear navigation mechanisms.

Default link colour, which is determined by the default stylesheet used by the mobile device, is blue or purple. This is reasonably consistent on mobile phones. Any text that is used that has this same colour could be confused with a link.

Requirement

Purple or blue has not been used as text colours (with the exception of the default link display)

Recommendation

Ensure there is sufficient colour contrast between the text colour and the background of the page to ensure the text is easily visible.

Checking Tool

View the page in a mobile device and verify that non-hyperlink text does not look like a hyperlink as a result of the colour used.
