Checkpoint 2.11 - Mobile-PDA

The Search feature is at the bottom of the page

WCAG 1.0 Priority 2

WCAG Guideline 13. Provide clear navigation mechanisms.

Space is limited on the small screens of mobile devices. Users want to see important information that they have requested at the top of the page displayed on the screen "above the fold". Standard, less important links use up valuable screen space.

Requirement

The Search feature is at the bottom of the page

Recommendation

Consistently keeping similar secondary navigation at the bottom of the page will allow the users to learn that this is where such links to information is kept and therefore make the site more usable for them.

Checking Tool

View the page in a mobile device and verify that the Search feature is at the bottom of the page.
