Checkpoint 5.5 - Mobile-PDA

Where possible, only information specifically requested by the user is provided

WCAG 1.0 Priority 1

WCAG Guideline 14. Ensure that documents are clear and simple.

Mobile device users are typically looking for specific information as opposed to general browsing of the internet. As there is usually a cost involved to the user in terms of time and money, the user should receive only that information that has been requested by them, while still giving them the option of accessing other information if they elect to do so.

Requirement

Where possible, only information specifically requested by the user is provided

Recommendation

Use clear language to ensure the information is delivered efficiently and as briefly as possible.

Checking Tool

View the page on a mobile device to determine if the information provided is appropriate for the information request made.
