Checkpoint 2.12 - Mobile-PDA

There is a link to the Homepage on all pages

WCAG 1.0 Priority 2

WCAG Guideline 13. Provide clear navigation mechanisms.

Users need to be able to get back to the Homepage of the site, where typically navigation to all areas of the site originates, especially where the user has navigated down a long chain of links and wants to return to the beginning or start to navigate down a different chain. Links to the Homepage from each page eliminates the need to backtrack all the way up the chain and thus save on time and bandwidth.

Requirement

There is a link to the Homepage on all pages

Recommendation

Put the link to the Homepage at the bottom of each page along with the Search button and other less important but standard navigation.

Checking Tool

View the page on a mobile device and verify that there is a link to the Homepage on the page.
