Checkpoint 5.2 - Mobile-PDA
Content is frontloaded
WCAG 1.0 Priority 1
WCAG Guideline 14. Ensure that documents are clear and simple.
Front-loading content means putting the conclusion of the thought at the beginning of the sentence and then following it up with the reasoning and background behind it. Doing so in a mobile environment where download time and display space are critical allows the reade to quickly scan through opening sentences, instantly understand what the sentence is about and decide if they want to continue with reading the remainder of the page.
Requirement
Content is frontloaded
Recommendation
Consider putting only one idea into each paragraph and focus the page around one specific point where possible.
Checking Tool
Read the text on the page and ensure that concluding thoughts appear at the beginning of the sentences and paragraphs while its rationale or supporting information follows it.
