Checkpoint 1.16 - Mobile-PDA

The site and functionality does not rely on the presence of a Back button

DEECD Requirement

DEECD Guideline

The Back button is often used to take the user back to the previous screen or screens of already-displayed information.

Some devices do not provide Back buttons so any dependent functionality may not be available to some users. In some cases users may not know how to invoke the Back button. This may make it hard to recover from errors, broken links, etc.

Requirement

The site and functionality does not rely on the presence of a Back button

Recommendation

Provide specific links to previous menu navigation.

Checking Tool

View the page in a mobile device simulator or on a mobile device.
