Applications created by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Develoment (DEECD) must comply to the set of standards presented within this website.
These standards expedite the process of creating new applications by facilitating code re-use and minimising the time developers must spend familiarising themselves with a new application. With a common vocabulary, communication between developers is enhanced and they can recognize standard elements as they switch between applications.
A separate Application Development Quality Assurance checklist (XLS - 304KB) document is available for download that should be used to check compliance with these requirements and which is needed for manual reporting back to the department's Business Solutions Delivery Unit (BSDU) to show compliance to the standards.
Standards Priorities
All standards in this section are assigned one of the three priorities below:
- 1 - Mandatory
- 2 - Important
- 3 - Desirable (Best Practice)
