Scholarships and Incentives

The Victorian government is committed to the provision of quality early childhood education and care services across the state. To support the early childhood sector, a range of scholarships and incentives are available for early childhood educators and teachers.

Scholarships for early childhood professionals (Early Childhood Qualifications Fund)

This scholarship provides support for educators currently working in a centre-based Victorian early childhood education and care service who wish to upgrade or attain an approved early childhood qualification. For more information, see: Early Childhood Qualifications Fund

Early childhood scholarships for Aboriginal people

This scholarship aims to increase the number of qualified Aboriginal people working in Victorian early childhood settings. Attracting more Aboriginal people to work in Victorian early childhood settings and supporting existing Aboriginal educators to gain or upgrade an approved qualification will help to ensure the workforce reflects the diversity of Victoria’s population. Employment incentives for early childhood teachers

Employment incentives for early childhood teachers are available to provide services with financial support to attract and retain qualified early childhood teachers to deliver an approved kindergarten program. For more information, see: Employment incentives for early childhood teachers

Other support

The Victorian Training Guarantee

The Victorian Training Guarantee is available for educators who do not hold a post-school qualification, or who want to gain a higher level qualification than they already hold. Use the VTG Eligibility Indicator to determine your eligibility. For more information, see: Victorian Training Guarantee.

Support for long day care educators

Educators working in long day care services can access support through the Australian government’s Long Day Care Professional Development Programme (LDCPDP).  For more information about this program, see: Long Day Care Professional Development Programme

Recognition of Prior Learning grants for early childhood educators

The Australian government provides funding for Recognition of Prior Learning grants for early childhood educators. FEE-HELP and VET FEE-HELP

FEE-HELP and VET FEE-HELP is available for students who do not receive any assistance from the Australian government to pay tuition fees. For more information, see: FEE-HELP and VET FEE-HELP
