Maternal and Child Health Key Ages and Stages Training

The revised Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Key Ages and Stages (KAS) Framework was rolled out statewide in 2009-2010. Training is available for those MCH nurses that have not completed the training previously.

BMI Education Resource − to assist MCH Nurses in tackling the risk of overweight in young children.

Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip Learning Resource − to assist MCH Nurses who are involved in the screening of DDH.

Reflective Practice − to support MCH nurses to become reflective practitioners and thus ultimately support these professionals in their work with families with complex needs and children at risk of harm.

Training attendance record / CPD

A KAS Training Attendance Record has been developed to assist nurses in keeping track of their participation in each of the seven KAS training sessions.

This record takes the place of formal attendance certificates, which are not required under the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Registration Standard set by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
