Support While Studying

You may be eligible for one of a number of available support payment schemes while you are studying.

  • The Youth Allowance is a payment scheme for students under 25 years of age.
  • Austudy is the income support payment for students aged 25 years and older.
  • Abstudy is available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and provides a range of allowances.

There is also a range of scholarships available that provide assistance to students during their primary or secondary schooling and with tertiary study. The George Carabaldi Turri Scholarship is one such scholarship that provides support to 30 students who intend to study for the Victorian Certificate of Education at a Victorian government school and enter into a course of teacher training.
