If you are an eligible student teacher you need to lodge your application for allowance under the scheme and email practicum@edumail.vic.gov.au or fax 03 9637 3418 immediately or as soon as your practicum is arranged.
The date of receipt for each application is recorded and each is assessed for eligibility and accorded a scheme priority.
You receive a letter confirming your eligibility for the payment of the allowance. If allocations have already been made, applications are automatically placed on the Reserve List and you will be advised of this.
Once your placement has commenced you must arrange for the completion of the Principal Confirmation section on your application and fax the completed application to the HR Services Branch (fax 03 9637 3418). This should be done as soon as possible after you start your placement as payment will not be made until this is received. If your confirmation is not received within two weeks of your placement ending you will be placed on the Reserve List.
You will receive payment by electronic funds transfer to the bank account you specify.
From mid-May and again from mid-November any unspent money is assigned to placement applications on the Reserve List. If you are on the list you are advised and notified if your application becomes eligible for payment.
