Refresher courses
Refresher courses provide teachers returning to the profession with an opportunity to catch up on the latest developments in education, including the most current school and classroom practices, curriculum and teaching methods.
You are eligible to apply for a refresher course if you are a qualified teacher and:
- have not taught in a Victorian government school within the last three years
- are registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
If you are a teacher who has worked as a casual replacement teacher during this time, or a registered teacher who has interstate or overseas training/experience and who has not taught in a Victorian government school, you are also eligible to apply.
Completion of this refresher course does not guarantee employment in a government school. The usual school selection processes apply.
Priority will be given to applicants who express interest in teaching in a government school in hard-to-staff locations and subject areas.
