You must have an approved university degree that includes study as prescribed in the Victorian Institute of Teaching's Specialist Area Guidelines. The specialist area guidelines prescribe the following minimum levels of study for subjects in the Mathematics and Science domains.

Science
Priority is given to those graduates applying for method studies in the area of Mathematics, General Science or Physics. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates will be given priority consideration and are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applications for the 2010 scholarship intake close on 5 October 2009. If you wish to apply, you are also required to apply for course entry. Applications for graduate course entry are made through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) or for a small number of courses directly to the university. You must meet university and VTAC application requirements and timelines. Timely application for 2010 course entry through VTAC close on 30 September 2009 - see Graduate Teaching Course Entry (VTAC).
Scholarships awarded under the Maths and Science Graduate Scholarship are dependent on selection to an approved graduate entry teaching course with an appropriate method study.
