Career Change Program - Training
Victoria University provides 2010 career change trainees with a place in its Commonwealth-supported teacher education program, and offers an appropriately structured teacher education course. The course:
- is designed for completion over a maximum two years
- combines online and direct delivery modes, which builds on the advantages of the program’s internship model and gives emphasis to the links between course ‘theory’ and workplace ‘practice’
- has the flexibility to work in partnership with participating schools and to accommodate their operational needs
- offers method study in the key learning areas targeted by the Program
- depending on your academic background, meets the university requirements for the award of a Bachelor of Education (P-12) or a Bachelor of Education (Vocational Education and Training) or a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary)
In addition, Victoria University also provides:
- a preliminary full-time intensive 'Intensive Introduction to Teaching' course, which provides you with essential knowledge and skills in teaching techniques and classroom management
- a training program for mentors of trainees.
