Take some time out with your family and soak up some culture at the 2009 Melbourne International Arts Festival.
This year’s festival features a fascinating program from some of the world’s most exciting artists in every art form – opera, outdoor spectacle, visual arts, symphonic music, dance and theatre to hybrid arts, techno, heavy metal and neo punk.
This 17-day event will run from October 9 to 25, with performances throughout Melbourne.
Treat your children to a night out past their bedtime with the free outdoor event Transe Express, a breathtaking performance that sees as an orchestra of bell ringers lifted 130 feet in the air.
Children will also love the wonderfully noisy and imaginative Ringing the Changes, performed by Melbourne group Strange Fruit.
