Over ten thousand Victorian adolescents will soon have the chance to voice their opinion on their own health and wellbeing – and shed some light on the mysterious workings of the teenage mind in the process.
Researchers from the Centre for Adolescent Health will be inviting randomly selected secondary schools to participate in HowRU? – the Victorian Adolescent Health and Wellbeing Survey commissioned by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Students from Years 7, 9 and 11 will have the opportunity to express their ideas and opinions on issues that affect their health and wellbeing through the anonymous online survey, which will take place during Terms 2 and 3 – providing a valuable statewide snapshot of how young Victorians are faring.
Detailed information will be mailed to the parents of all students who are invited to participate. If you receive a letter and do not want your child to complete the survey, please fill in the Refusal of Consent form and return it to the Centre for Adolescent Health in the reply-paid envelope provided.
The survey will be available for parents to view at participating schools and further information will be provided in school newsletters.
