Department Vision Statement and Structure
Vision statement
With the joining of the Department of Education and the Office for Children to form the new Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, a new vision statement and departmental priorities needed to be formulated. We are currently in the process of writing these important documents and anticipate they will be finalised shortly.

Department structure
The Department is currently supported by the work of:
- five central offices – Office for Government School Education; Office for Policy, Research and Innovation; Office for Resources and Infrastructure; and Office for Planning, Strategy and Coordination and Office for Children and Early Childhood Development
- nine regional offices – Barwon South Western; Grampians; Gippsland; Hume; Loddon Mallee; Eastern Metropolitan; Northern Metropolitan; Southern Metropolitan; and Western Metropolitan
