Welcome to Early Childhood Services

  • Welcome to Early Childhood Services – The Victorian Government, in partnership with local councils and others, is establishing children’s centres right across the state. These centres bring together a whole range of services for families with young children. This handbook will provide you with valuable information about the early childhood services in Victoria that are available for you and your child.

Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) [related site]

  • Centrelink Validation Failure – one page letter for schools to use to advise parents that their application has failed validation with Centrelink. Parents will need to take this letter to Centrelink
  • EMA Sample Newsletter Article – a sample newsletter article for schools to use to advertise the EMA

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Literacy

  • 201 Literacy and Maths Tips – provides 201 handy hints and way families can help their children develop literacy and maths skills. It provides practical activities for families to do with their child at home to support the important work teachers are doing in the classroom.

  • 2008 Parent Opinion Survey – survey used to collect data about parent opinions and for individual schools to then use this information to drive further improvements
