The start of school year can be an exciting and, at times, stressful period for parents - especially the parents of Preps starting school for the first time. Parents can relax in the knowledge that the Victorian Government is committed to building the Education State, and ensuring that all students have the opportunity at a great education (see Quick Links to find out more).
Support from parents and guardians
Support from parents and guardians is also important to ensure the start of primary or secondary school is as smooth as possible. It is important for you as parents or guardians to be a part of your child's education by finding out what they are learning about, reading with them, and engaging with the school community.
There are plenty of helpful tips and guidance to support your child in the lead up to, and following, the first day.
