New technologies help classrooms connect

News bulletin: 18 August 2009

In the upcoming seminar Connecting Classrooms – Using New Technologies to Collaborate Between Schools, the benefits of online learning in classrooms are revealed.

Join teachers, Gary Schultz and Adrian Camm, in this one-hour seminar, as they discuss how new technologies can connect students to experienced educators.

Adrian Camm will reveal how his online project Virtual Learning Community for VCE Physics connected all VCE physics students to experienced educators, academics and text book authors.

Gary Schultz will discuss his work on the Wimmera Virtual School project and how, through a combination of online and face-to-face teaching styles, it helped address the disadvantages of distance for rural and remote schools in the Wimmera area.

The event is free, open to all teachers and staff and will be held online at 4pm on Thursday 20 August.
