Victorian principals engage with Asia

News bulletin: 29 September 2009

Principals are invited to apply for the Leading 21st Century Schools: Engage with Asia project.

The project aims at strengthening ties with Asia through the improvement of Asian literacy in schools.

Run by the National Asian Languages and Studies in Schools Program (NALSSP), the project will nominate principals to lead, promote and support the studies of Asia at school.

Principals nominated for the project will be provided with high quality materials and resources to help them develop Asian study streams within the curriculum. Principals will also be given the opportunity to determine the level of involvement that best suits the school’s learning objectives.

The project is open to all principals in Victoria and up to 90 places are available for Victorian government schools.

Funding will also be made available for principals to undertake professional development and to participate in study tours, state-wide forums and network meetings.

Applications close 16 October 2009.
