The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development media unit provides media and public information services to state schools and early childhood services such as kindergartens, maternal and child health services, Victorian media outlets and the general public.

In addition to answering media-related inquiries, the media centre distributes press releases, media kits and other information about current and upcoming events, policies, programs and services.
