News bulletin: 18 May 2015
The 71st Victorian Education Week celebrations have kicked off at schools across the state, with a special focus this year on maths.
During the week, hundreds of schools and some early years education providers will open their doors to their community to showcase how they are helping every child reach his or her full potential.
In keeping with the theme of Education Week 2015 – ‘Crack the Code with Maths’ – a 3D Print-A-Car Challenge was launched at Quantum Victoria.
The Challenge provides students from Victorian Government schools with an opportunity to design, create and print a car.
On August 20, Quantum Victoria will host a state-wide event where student teams will compete for a place in the car race finals to be held at the University of Melbourne on October 9 as part of the 3D Printing Showcase – which will bring together students, teachers, university and industry representatives.
Education Week runs from 17-23 May 2015.
