Outstanding School Leadership Award

The Outstanding School Leadership Award acknowledges excellence in educational leadership in Victorian government schools and promotes the reputation of Victorian school leaders at a national and international level. It is a prestigious award within the Victorian Education Excellence Awards program.

The award raises awareness that professional learning can inform and improve the quality of educational leadership in our schools. It is awarded to promote research into effective school leadership and to disseminate the findings across the Victorian government school system.

The Outstanding School Leadership Award recognises leaders who create an environment that supports and enhances the professional growth of teachers and delivers improved opportunities and outcomes for all students.

Award details:

  • The opportunity for the recipient to undertake research for up to ten weeks
  • $50 000 to be used for all costs associated with undertaking the research and producing a report, including travel, accommodation and casual replacement. The recipient’s current salary will continue to be paid during the period of research.
  • One year’s free membership with the Australian College of Educators and a further three years membership at a reduced rate (half cost).
