Award conditions
All professional learning, research and reports undertaken as part of the Awards must be completed by December 31, 2009.
It is expected that research, innovative practice and professional learning arising out of the awards will be documented and placed on Knowledge Bank.
The mecu Outstanding Business Manager Award is the exception to this, where they are expected to deliver a report of their project to the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
In the case of the Outstanding School Leadership Award and mecu Business Managers Award, recipients are also expected to present their research findings to the education community through appropriate meetings, forums, conferences and networks.
Any unused Award monies must be returned to the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Recipients of the Lindsay Thompson Fellowship, the Outstanding School Leadership Award, the VTCU Outstanding Primary Teacher Award and the mecu Outstanding Secondary Teacher Award are expected to remain in the Department’s employment for a minimum of two years following the period of the Award.
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development reserves the right to use all or part of any material including submissions and photographs for any publicity campaign related to education in Victoria. Copyright of any materials produced during, or as a result of the Award is owned by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development reserves the right not to make an Award.
Applying for an award
Applicants must be exemplary representatives of their profession and be employed in Victorian government schools. Recipients of other professional state, national or international awards are not excluded from consideration for these awards.
Please complete all sections of the online expression of interest form, including a response to the key question, which should be no longer than 150 words.
All expressions of interest must be received by close of business Friday 9 November, 2007.
