Judging Criteria
Hero Awards
This award is designed to reward schools whose on-going dedication and passion for the environment has contributed to achieving sustainability within their community.
Entrants for this award must have been actively involved in the Rubbish Free Lunch Challenge for a number of years and must be able to demonstrate success in their efforts to making their school more sustainable.
To be eligible for this award, please respond to the following:
- How many times has this school participated in the Rubbish Free Lunch Challenge?
- Provide details of any awards (winner or runner-up) that this school has received from their participation in the Rubbish Free Lunch Challenge
- Give a summary of how the school’s Rubbish Free Lunch policy has developed and improved since you first entered the Challenge
- Provide measurements and data on the amount of rubbish reduced as a part of the 2008 Challenge
- Give a summary of what actions contribute significantly to the school’s sustainability program (ie. activities or policies)
- List three significant sustainability achievements that are a result of the school’s sustainability action.
