The following schools won prizes in the Cultural Diversity Quest 2011:
Senior students from Cobram Secondary College produced a short documentary on the day of a Muslim co-student. The video showed the student as he went about his daily routine including attending school, having lunch with his family and performing his daily prayers. The film helps to break down stereotypes and gives the viewer an insight into some of his family's cultural practices.
Wangaratta West Primary School formed an African drumming group which has had great success in the Wangaratta area. The students not only learn to play the drums but they learn about the significance of music in traditional cultural events and celebrations and make comparisons with celebration traditions in their own families.
Year 9 students from Caroline Chisolm Catholic College researched, designed and produced an impressive Immigration dress which they hand-painted with representations of immigration stories from the 1870s.
