​​​The Premiers' Reading Challenge encourages children to read a set number of books and record their efforts online. The early childhood category covers children from birth to the year prior to school.

 How to Enter

  1. Parents please check your child is registered for the Early Childhood Premier’s Reading Challenge either online or at your child's childcare service, see: How do I register for the Premiers' Reading Challenge?
  2. Help your child read the ten types of books in the scavenger hunt
  3. Before 22 September 2017,  Submit your Scavenger Hunt entry

Read the 10 different types of books

To participate in the scavenger hunt, read a book:

  1. that rhymes
  2. by your favourite author
  3. with an eye catching front cover
  4. that you've read before
  5. with a one word title
  6. that has won an award
  7. with a number in the title
  8. about animals
  9. that you've never read
  10. that is a fairy tale.

Prizes

Win 100 books for your Early Childhood Centre and also take home a book prize pack from Penguin Random House. One winner will be from regional Victoria and one from Melbourne.

How do I register for the Premiers' Reading Challenge?

​There are two ways to participate in the Early Childhood Premiers' Reading Challenge:

Early Childhood Services

Early Childhood services can register children at their centre. For more information, see:

Parents

To register your child, see: Parents Registration for the Premiers' Reading Challenge

You won't need to record book titles online. Please keep a record of books read, and one month before the challenge ends you will receive an email asking you to login and tick a box to verify 40 books have been read.
