Children's Week is a national program recognising the talents, skills, achievements and rights of young people. It is based on the articles expressed in the United Nations Convention on the Right of the Child, highlighting the importance of play, wellbeing and protection.
This year, Children's Week will run on Saturday 22 - Sunday 30 October 2016, held over two weekends.
This year's theme focuses on children having the right to reliable information from the media.
Over the week, there will be many free communtiy events and fun activities across Victoria, ranging from music and dance workshops, art and craft activities, entertainment, exhibitions, guided walks, storytelling, children's fairs and much more.
The official calendar of Children's Week activities will be announced here in the coming weeks.
Children's Week highlights the terrific work educational services and community groups do in Victoria, the Education State and is supported by The Department of Education and Training ensuring that every child experiences the chance to succeed, in learning and in life.
