The Victorian State Schools Performance Ensembles
The Victorian State Schools Performance ensembles:
- Dance Ensembles - junior and senior dance ensembles in Geelong, Melbourne and Warragul
- Stage Band Ensemble - a musical ensemble that rehearses regularly in Melbourne
- Solo Vocalist Ensemble - a small group of singers who perform in any combination from solos, to duets, to trios
- Choir Ensemble - under the direction of Jan Goodall, one of Melbourne’s most sought-after choir directors
- Ensemble Auditions - any student attending a Victorian government school in 2012 is welcome to audition for the performance ensembles irrespective of experience or training
- Hiring the Ensembles - the versatility and talent of the ensembles enables the Performing Arts Unit to offer a range of entertainment from quartets to Big Bands to hundreds of dancers.
The ensembles aim to showcase excellence in the performing arts through a range of artistic opportunities.
The ensembles are made up of state school students ranging from 10 to 18 years of age. All students in the ensembles are selected through an audition process and undergo regular weekly rehearsals geared towards performance.
Performances by these ensembles range from large government and corporate events, to outdoor festivals.
