The Victorian State Schools Performance Ensembles
In 2009 the JtC ensembles will be renamed the "Victorian State Schools Performance ensembles", a name that better reflects the nature of our showcase ensembles and their relationship to the Department and the Spectacular.
The Victorian State Schools Performance ensembles are
- The Dancers, with junior and senior dance ensembles in Geelong, Melbourne and Warragul
- The Solo Vocalists
- The Junior and Senior Choir
- The Stage Band.

All the VSS ensembles aim to showcase excellence in the performing arts through a range of performance opportunities as opposed to competitions or eisteddfods.
The ensembles are made up of state school students ranging from 10 to 18 years of age. All students in the ensembles are selected on the basis of an audition process and undergo regular weekly rehearsals geared towards performance.
Performances by these ensembles have ranged from large government and corporate events, to outdoor festivals.
