The ensembles are a vital part of the Performing Arts Unit program and are free to join. They allow students with an aptitude and talent for performance to receive tuition and direction from leading arts teachers and gain valuable performance experience, whilst showcasing the strength of the performing arts in Victorian government schools.
These ensembles attend weekly rehearsals geared towards learning new performances. The main aim of the ensembles managed by the Performing Arts Unit is to nurture talent and provide opportunities for students.
All students attending a Victorian government school in 2012 are welcome to audition for the performance ensembles irrespective of experience or training. Students are selected through an audition process. If you have a talent for performing, enjoy performing in front of large audiences and would benefit from tuition by leading teachers, please take advantage of this offer and audition for the 2011 ensembles.
Dance auditions are held in groups of approximately 10 - 20 whilst singing, string and band members auditions are solo.
Round one auditions for the 2011 performance ensembles took place December 2011/January 2012.
For more information about auditioning, call the Performing Arts Unit on (03) 9415 1700.
