JOINING the CHORUS (JtC) is the performing arts initiative of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Established in 1995, its underlying philosophy is to promote the performing arts in Victorian government schools by offering students performance opportunities that both showcase excellence and provide valuable performance experiences in professional environments.

These goal are achieved through the JOINING the CHORUS performance ensembles and the JOINING the CHORUS major events.

These events have include:

Through its ten year history JOINING the CHORUS has provided over 20000 Victorian government school students with unforgettable performance opportunities, while providing support and information to the Victorian government school community.

Costume hire

Through the creation of its major spectacular events, JOINING the CHORUS now has  a costume store of over 8,000 pieces. These costumes are available for hire to the school community at very reasonable rates.

If schools require large sets of costumes, then the JtC costume inventory is the only place in Melbourne that can cater to those needs.

Our costumes sets include thousands of red sequin tops, thousands of red, blue or silver sequin tops, thousands of pairs of black pants, hundreds of rock and roll skirts, hundreds of coloured overalls, cowboy hats, zebra heads and Charleston skirts and much more.
