One of the major events to take take place, which celebrates and recognises the outstanding work of Victoria's teachers, leading and school services/support officers is the Victorian Education Excellence Awards.
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development also pays tribute to the teaching profession, parents and community volunteers through the Long Service, Parent, Retiring School Councillor and Community Service Awards. See Awards.
In addition to the school based activities, Education Week will include a calendar of free educational activities which will be on offer to government school students. These will be presented by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in partnership with libraries, art galleries, museums and zoos, theatre groups and other organisations throughout Victoria.
