Kindergarten programs around Victoria are encouraged to celebrate Education Week from 20 − 26 May 2012.
Education Week is a great opportunity for kindergartens to showcase their early learning programs and the positive experiences enjoyed by children enrolled in kindergarten
There is a swell of community interest in education at this time and many positive ways for kindergartens to participate in activities throughout the week.

Education Week awards
The following awards recognise the inspiring leaders, teachers, staff and parents who make Victorian government schools and early childhood services exciting places for children and young people to learn and grow.
- Victorian Education Excellence Awards: celebrate and publicly recognise the outstanding work of Victoria's kindergarten and government school teachers, school leaders and education support staff. The Awards provide professional development opportunities, both in Australia and internationally, for those who exemplify education best practice and innovation.
- Victorian Education Service Awards: celebrate and acknowledge staff, members of the community, outstanding parents and retiring school councilors for their contribution towards ensuring children have a positive educational experience when attending Victorian government schools.
