    Corryong Neighbourhood House Inc

    Event Details

    Description

Participating Kindergarten and Foundation school children will be encouraged to dress in international costume to celebrate diversity and Children's Week. This costume concept is supported by school participants.

Kindergarten and Foundation school children will learn new creative balloon art skills with healthy eating and international themes. The balloon artist is a former chef of 30 years who will educate children that healthy food is a fun and wise choice.

Kindergarten and Foundation families will also be invited to participate and work with children to create their balloon masterpieces. Children will learn to make balloon fruit and international foods. Children will also be engaged in story telling with the local Librarian. The book selected will support the themes.

Parents will be invited to a "Lunchtime" healthy eating presentation by Upper Murray Community Heath Services to extend their learning. An international dish will be prepared and shared with all participants. Cost effective international recipes will be provided to families to try at home.

To further extend children's learning, they will also enjoy a healthy snack at the end of the session.
