The Ultranet has a range of online tools and spaces for students, parents and teachers: 

Home
A personalised page for students, parents and teachers. Users can see school or community notices. Students and teachers can add their favourite applications.
 
eXpress Space
A personal space for students and teachers to capture, share and reflect upon their learning. The student eXpress Space includes spaces for their Learning Portfolio and Learning Goals.
 

Design
Where teachers can plan, create and collaborate with colleagues within and across schools. Teachers can use this space to design curriculum and student learning activities.

 
Community
Where students, parents and teachers can find the latest school news and events and get involved in school-based groups, clubs or activities.
 

Collaborative Learning
Where students can take part in online learning activities set up by their teachers. Students use a range of Web 2.0 tools for learning, including blogs, wikis, message boards and polls.

 

Learner Profile
Where students, their parents and teachers can view a detailed profile of their individual learning progress.

 

Learning Tasks
Where teachers can plan, deliver and assess learning activities, and students can view and submit learning tasks.

 

My Content
Where teachers and students can store and search for personal, school and quality-assured digital learning resources.

 

Connect
Where students can find reviewed websites and online activities.

Home
Each user can personalise their home page to feature their most frequently used applications, such as their Calendar, Notices and RSS feeds.

 

eXpress Space
A student’s eXpress Space is viewable by their teachers and parents. It includes a Profile, Learning Portfolio and Learning Goals.

 

Design
Teachers can collaborate with colleagues within and across schools, share professional practice, design student learning activities and plan curriculum.

 

Community
Schools can develop a Community space to share news and events with their parent community. School councils, clubs and other groups in a school or across schools can also set up Community spaces.

 

Collaborative Learning
Students can collaborate, communicate and create with other students around aspects of their learning.

 

Learner Profile
At-a-glance information about a student’s learning, accessible to the student, their parents and their teachers. It includes their attendance, timetable, current learning items and submissions, observations and learning progress.

 

Learning Tasks
Where students complete online learning activities and view feedback from their teachers. Parents can see their child’s activities, including teacher comments and assessment, and make their own observations about their child.
 

 

My Content
Teachers and students can search within the Ultranet for quality digital resources to use in learning activities or spaces they have set up in the Ultranet. This includes Department quality-assured content.
 

 

Connect
Students have easy access to the Connect website, where they can search for online activities, such as games, animations, sound and video, on a range of topics.
