As a parent, the Ultranet will give you more detailed and timely access to information so you can monitor and support your child’s learning. Information about your child and their school will build over time as schools progressively implement and use the Ultranet’s many functions. In just a few clicks, you will be able to see your child’s latest:
You can access the Ultranet at your own convenience, from any computer with internet access, and at a time that suits you. You can also log into the Ultranet with your child and discuss their learning progress together. This means you don’t have to wait for formal review sessions with teachers because the Ultranet allows you to recognise your child’s achievements and address learning or schooling issues as they arise.
As more information is added, over time you will be able to view a history of your child’s learning progress. This history will travel with your child as they move from year to year and school to school, with their teachers able to view this valuable information.
Online learning environments are becoming part of best practice learning and teaching worldwide. They are already used in a range of individual school settings across Australia and the world.
The Ultranet will connect every Victorian government school for the first time. This means that knowledge can be shared across schools and each student’s learning history stays with them as they move from school to school.
Having one system also means that parents with more than one child can log in and find learning information about each of their children in one place, even if they attend different government schools.
Your child’s school will progressively update details about your child and gradually start using the Ultranet for online learning activities. Talk to your child’s school about how they’re doing this.

Schools will invite parents onto the Ultranet in line with their implementation plans. You will have access to:
At first, the amount of student information that parents will see on the Ultranet may vary from school to school. It will depend on how long the school has had access to the system and how they have chosen to introduce it into the classroom.
The Ultranet will not replace personal communication between parents and teachers – you should always contact the school directly if you have concerns about your child’s learning. For more information about parent access, see: Accessing the Ultranet
