University of Melbourne Special Lecture by Minister Dixon

On 29 November 2011, the Minister for Education, the Hon. Martin Dixon, MP marked one year of the Government’s term in office with a special lecture at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, The University of Melbourne.

The special lecture, titled Victoria as a Learning Community, laid out the Government’s vision for school education reform.

The Minister spoke about the principles that guide the Government’s approach to reform: choice, local decision-making and school-community integration.

He also described the five key reform areas on which the Government will focus. These are student outcomes, order and inclusion, innovation, partnerships and internationalising education.
