'Go for Your Life' Education Initiatives
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is actively participating in the Victorian Government's ‘Go for your life’ campaign.
Encouraging healthy eating and an active lifestyle in school aged students is a key element in preparing children for a long term healthy lifestyle.
'Go for your life' Healthy Start in Schools Grants
Government schools with primary enrolments are invited to apply for funds through the ‘Go for your life’ Healthy Start in Schools Grants Program. This initiative aims to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity to assist students to achieve autonomy in developing and maintaining their health and wellbeing.

'Go for your life' Healthy Canteen Kit

The 'Go for your life' Healthy Canteen Kit has been developed to support students making healthy food choices at school and in life. The kit provides the School Canteen and Other School Food Services Policy and implementation guidelines on how schools can provide healthy food choices to students. The kit also provides information to incorporate into student learning which supports teaching children about healthy eating and the importance of activity in daily life.

'Go for your life' - Kitchen Garden Project with Stephanie Alexander
The Kitchen Garden project developed in conjunction with 'Go for your life' and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation provides grants to schools to establish kitchen gardens. Students will actively participate in growing vegetables and then learn to prepare healthy recipes with them in the kitchen.
'Go for your life' Free Fruit Friday
Government schools are able to apply for funding through the 'Go for your life' Free Fruit Friday program to purchase fruit and vegetables on a weekly basis for their Prep - Year 2 students.
