Corporate Plan

I am delighted to introduce the first corporate plan of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (the Department).

This Department brings together the former Department of Education and part of the former Office for Children, to support both the Minister for Education and the Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development.

Our focus is the learning, development, health and wellbeing of all young Victorians, from birth to adulthood.

Our vision is that every young Victorian thrives, learns and grows, to enjoy a productive, rewarding and fulfilling life, while contributing to their local and global communities.

We will use this vision to ensure that Victoria’s children’s services, from maternal and child health to senior secondary education, meet the needs of our families and children.

In this corporate plan we elaborate our vision, mission, and corporate priorities for the three years commencing 1 January 2009 and provide a planning framework to help develop and implement the Government’s reform agenda in our portfolio, and drive continuous corporate improvement.

I look forward to working with all my colleagues in the Department, our children, young people and families, stakeholders and partners in this exciting endeavour.
