Campbellfield Heights Primary School

Campbellfield Heights Primary School is proud of its ongoing relationship with Maarefa Arabic School and its new Building the Education Revolution (BER) library and classroom facility has only strengthened the bond between the two schools.

While the students at Campbellfield Heights enjoy their new BER facility during the week, 160 children descend on the library and classrooms every Saturday to learn to speak, write and read Arabic.

The Maarefa Arabic School, which has been operating at Campbellfield Heights for over ten years, has evolved into a well respected and renowned school in the local community.

“We have students who attend the school from the local neighbourhood as well as suburbs such as Coburg, Meadow Heights and Roxburgh Park,” said principal Ric Maguire.

The school experiences numerous benefits as a result of this partnership in sharing its facilities. The principal of the Maarefa Arabic School, Riad Khoder is also a school councillor and has been proactive in establishing stronger social networks between the two schools and the wider community.

And according to Mr Maguire there are even some additional bonuses to the partnership between the two schools.

“Having the school operational for six days a week has also improved the school security as the school is not vacant over the weekend,” he said.
