The Victorian Government’s $1.9 billion Victorian Schools Plan to rebuild, renovate or extend 500 government schools by 2011 with the Commonwealth Government’s Building Education Revolution are being combined to deliver an unprecedented investment in Victorian schools.
A key part of the Victorian Schools Plan is the Building Futures framework which links capital investment decisions to improving educational outcomes.
The Partnerships Victoria in Schools (PViS) is part of the whole-of-government approach to public infrastructure provision.
Eleven new schools are being constructed around Melbourne for opening in the 2010 and 2011 school years. These will continue to be maintained as part of a 25-year public private partnership.
