To generate an understanding and commitment to the reform agenda, an invitational summit was held on 10 and 11 April, and several consultation forums are scheduled. These sessions are an opportunity to build partnerships with key stakeholders and an opportunity to bring stakeholders from the early childhood and school education sectors together.
A Statewide Summit was hosted by the Hon Bronwyn Pike MP, Minister for Education and Maxine Morand MP, Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development on Thursday 10 April and Friday 11 April 2008.
The summit provided an opportunity for invited international experts, education and early childhood practitioners, stakeholders and senior DEECD staff to discuss the Government’s proposed reform agenda. It also provided an opportunity for participants to provide direct feedback on the Blueprint discussion papers.
As part of the Blueprint consultation process, four half-day consultation forums were held between Thursday 1 May and Thursday 15 May, as follows:
The forums focussed on the Blueprint discussion papers, with a particular emphasis on the proposed reform actions and the consultation questions posed within the papers.
Participation in the consultation forums was being sought through public advertisements in local and regional papers and through direct invitations to early childhood services and school education practitioners.
